Collections Trust aim to make it as easy as possible for all kinds of organisations to appropriately use collections information from the Culture Grid by:
- providing a range of standards based options to use collections information from the Culture Grid including:
- an easy to use Search Box Builder that anyone could use to create a search of particular collections in the Culture Grid on a website
- Search API to build search applications (download details)
- Harvesting for data hosting
- Site Map crawling for serach engines
- Offering a Collections Link network for people interested in using collections information via the Culture Grid, especially developers looking to use the search APIs
- promoting the Culture Grid to initiatives that encourage new uses of collections information, such as
- DCMS Rewired Culture
- JISC initiatives
- Culture Grid Hack Days
- Working with technical suppliers to support their customers to use collections information from the Culture Grid
- Working with funders to support use of the Culture Grid by their programmes and projects and to raise awareness of the value of using collections information from the Culture Grid
