View of the recently built James Reed House, Beeston Medical Centre. It is a ?1.9 million purpose built health centre constructed on the original car park of the Co-operative Store. The centre covers 15,000 sq. ft. on two storeys and brings together the services and facilities of local G.Ps, the Leeds Teaching Hospitals and South Leeds Primary Care Trust. Local people can access a wide variety of services, including kidney dialysis, helping sick people avoid having to travel for treatment. The initiative is a partnership between the N.H.S. Trust, South Leeds Primary Trust and Leeds Industrial Co-operative Society. It is part of a ?3 million development incorporating a Co-op food store, an optical branch, travel agency, pharmacy and funeral service. There is a car park and disabled access. | License: | http://www.leodis.net/article.aspx?id=12 | Rights holder: | Leeds Central Library | Subjects: | James Reed House Beeston Village Medical Centre Town Street | Source: | Leodis - A photographic archive of Leeds | Identifier: | http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?id=20... | Go to resource |
