Description: | This booklet is a French language guide to London published by the London, Midland & Scottish Railway (L.M.S.). The front cover depicts ceremonial guards on horseback in Horse Guards Parade. Royal and military pageants have been a popular tourist attraction in London throughout the 20th century.
The guide provides detailed notes on different areas of London and includes photos of places of interest. There is also a pocket map of the Underground in a folder at the back.
The L.M.S was formed as an amalgamation of several railways in 1923. The railway extended from the far north of Scotland to Bristol in the West and Southend in the East. The London terminus was at Euston. | Format: | image/jpeg | Publisher: | London Transport Museum | Rights holder: | Copyright unknown - Collection of London's Transport Museum | Subjects: | Leisure Transport | Temporal: | c1930 | Source: | London Transport Museum | Identifier: | http://www.20thcenturylondon.org.uk/rser... | Language: | en-GB | Format: | image/jpeg | Go to resource |
