His friendship with Pierre Drecet conducted the last one to become a portrait engraver. Named engraver of the king in 1696/97, he was accepted at the Royal Academy in 1703, and became academicien in 1707. | License: | http://www.hmag.gla.ac.uk/spirit/rights/ | Publisher: | Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, University of Glasgow | Rights holder: | Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, University of Glasgow | Subjects: | PORTRAIT : MAN : XVIIITH CENTURY : COAT OF ARMS : | Source: | Hunterian Museum | Creator: | Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, University of Glasgow | Identifier: | http://www.huntsearch.gla.ac.uk/cgi-bin/... | Language: | en-GB | Go to resource |
