Description: | Photocopied ts accounts (139pp) reflecting his service on the Western Front with the 10th Battalion Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment (17th Division), 1915, and as an officer with the 17th Battalion Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment (39th Division), 1916 - 1917, including involvement in the Battle of the Somme (September - November 1916); then service with the 1st Battalion 15th Sikh Regiment in Afghanistan, 1919, Iraq and Kurdistan, 1920 - 1922 (when the unit was retitled the 2nd Battalion 11th Sikh Regiment), and peacetime service in India and in the North West Frontier campaign of 1936 - 1937. Together with recollections of his service with the 3rd Battalion 1st Punjab Regiment (4th Indian Division) in Egypt, 1939 - 1940, and as Assistant Commandant of the Belgaum Officer Training School, India, 1941 - 1945, plus a scrapbook (132pp) of various items relating to his service during 1926 - 1957, a ms journal (125pp) of general war news from December 1943 to August 1945, and six other miscellaneous items.
