Description: | Ms memoir (36pp, written May 1919) of his service (September - c.December 1915) with 1/1st Sussex Yeomanry (South Eastern Mounted Brigade, 42nd Division), covering his embarkation from Liverpool (September 1915) for Lemnos, the landing at 'W' Beach, Cape Helles (October 1915) and march to Gully Ravine, the holding of positions there and in reserve at 'Y' Ravine, his evacuation to Alexandria with dysentery (November 1915) and his hospitalization and convalescence in Cairo; including notes on conditions on board RMS OLYMPIC and the danger from torpedoes, rations, the difficulty of constructing dug-outs, his first experience in the trenches, and good details of conditions in Gully Ravine.
