Description: | A ms account (4pp) about his time as a battalion runner in 11th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment (116th Brigade, 39th Division, Second Army), in the Ypres Salient, his being attached to act as a runner for a special squad prior to the Battle of Passchendaele (Third Battle of Ypres) (July 1917), and duties as a stretcher bearer, moving to Larch Wood and Hill 60 (September 1917), acting as runner to Lieutenant Edmund Blunden at 'Tower Hamlets Ridge', and his wounding at Villers Brettoneux (March 1918), with anecdotes, details of his duties, the rain, mud, shelling, and his opinion of Blunden.
