Description: | The boy standing near the left, mid-picture, with his hands in his pockets, is T.F. Fred Cranidge, who at the time would have been nine years old. The extent of the labours in digging, working and giving by members of the congregation, is reflected in an announcement made at the time when the final figures became available, when the Church opened on the 10th July 1907. A saving of 953 Pounds had been achieved and the total cost of the site was announced as 3,140 Pounds The notice in the middle of the picture concerns the stone-laying ceremony, which took place on 25th July, 1906. | Publisher: | http://northlincsmuseumimagearchive.org.uk/ | Rights holder: | North Lincolnshire Council Image Archive | Subjects: | Wesleyan High_Street Places Buildings_and_Structures Edwardian Foundation_Stone Building Churches_and_Chapels Methodist Ashby | Source: | North Lincolnshire Museums | Identifier: | http://northlincsmuseumimagearchive.org.... | Go to resource |
