Description: | Ts transcription (167pp) of a diary covering his service as Captain with the RAMC in Mesopotamia during the First World War, where he was successively at the British and Indian Hospital for Infectious Diseases, Basra, August - December 1917; as Assistant Port Health Officer, Basra, January - June 1918; in command of the 29th British and Indian Sanitary Section, Margil, June - September 1918, and of a Disinfecting Train Service during the fighting along the Euphrates Defences, October - November 1918, containing a detailed record of his duties and conditions in Mesopotamia, and reflecting his interest in preventative rather than curative medicine.
