Description: | Ms diary (14pp), with ts transcription (5pp), recording his experiences when serving with the 235th Brigade RFA (47th Division) around St Quentin and Bapaume, 21 March - 10 April 1918, giving details of the impact of the awaited German offensive, the heavy firing and frequent changes of position, close co-operation with the infantry including support for the 51st Division, British tanks and Australian and New Zealand troops and the depressing return to the old Somme battlefields of 1916. Together with a postcard photograph showing Chapman with two fellow soldiers.
