Description: | Brief and undescriptive ms diary (15pp) kept during his service as a Private with the RAMC, June 1917 - December 1918, describing his journey across France to Taranto where he embarked on the transport SAXON to Salonika and was posted to the 63rd General Hospital, the 1st Canadian Hospital, the 49th General Hospital and the 68th General Hospital, referring to his duties including looking after the stores, cooking and trench digging, the Salonika fire (August 1917), his own hospitalisation with malaria, and frequent air raids. Together with four photographs of Salonika and a Pass for Other Ranks Quartered in Constantinople for Duty (1p) dated January 1920.
