Description: | Privately-published ts transcription (56pp) of a diary covering his military service with the 11th Battalion Queens Own (Royal West Kent Regiment) (122nd Brigade, 41st Division) on the Western Front, 1916 – 1917, describing his duties, casualties, the conditions of the dugouts, weather and food, being under fire and going ‘over the top’ into enemy trenches, sickness and his discharge (17 July 1917). The book includes pictures of locations in modern day France where the Battalion were stationed and photocopies of his service records, death certificate and first aid training certificates.
