Description: | A very lively and interesting ms memoir (151pp), with ts transcript (114pp), written in 1919 and covering his service as a junior RGA officer with the 342nd Siege Battery RGA in the United Kingdom, March - May 1917, and on the Western Front, May 1917 - December 1918, under 79th Heavy Artillery Group up to December 1917 and then with 60th Brigade RGA. The Battery was temporarily attached to the Belgian Army for operations in the Dixmude sector in autumn 1917, took part in the March - April 1918 retreat on the Arras front and also served in the final Allied advance from September 1918 onwards.
