Description: | This collection contains scores and parts for incidental music at the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre and for the Royal Shakespeare Company. The music is deposited with the Production Records after productions have ceased current performance. The composers retain rights to commissioned music created for use in RSC productions, but the collection includes some original manuscript scores in addition to photocopies of music and music cue books. The Leslie Bridgewater estate presented music for productions in the 1950s in 2001. This includes gramophone recordings and tape recordings used in productions in the 1940s-50s for which no live performers were employed, or created for sale from productions including 'The Winter's Tale' (1969)and 'Les Miserables'(1985), as well as printed scores and parts published for sale.; There is a Library catalogue available. Some material is also listed separately.
