Description: | Photocopied ms transcription of a diary (19pp) covering his service in the 7th Battalion Royal Munster Fusiliers (30th Brigade, 10th Division) at Gallipoli, in Greece and Egypt, 1914 – 1917, describing his enlistment (1 September 1914), training, the voyage to and landing at Suvla Bay (8 August 1915) where he recalls making his way to shore under enemy fire, seeing friends die, transfer to Salonika via the island of Mudros (October 1915), his duties, conditions of the food, attending a bombing course, embarkation in HMS ARRAGON and voyage to Alexandria, Egypt (9 September 1917), his sickness and recovery, and return journey home.
