Description: | Ms letters (18pp) covering his service with the South Staffordshire Regiment December 1914 - July 1916. These include comments on training whilst with the 2/6th Battalion (59th Division) in the UK 1914 - 1915, and subsequent service on the Western Front 1915 - 1916 with the 1/6th Battalion (46th Division). Conditions in the trenches near Ypres in August 1915 and ration parties are described, also his hospitalisation at the 3rd General Hospital France and in Manchester after being wounded on the first day of the Somme July 1916. Captain Adams died in October 1918 in hospital in Birmingham.
