Description: | Photocopied transcript (31pp) of a pocket diary kept by an anonymous soldier of the 1/2nd London Field Company RE (29th Division), covering his voyage from the United Kingdom to Gallipoli, March - April 1915, the landing at Helles on 25 April and his subsequent service during the fighting of April to August, briefly describing his work and conditions on the Peninsula, and noting casualties. After further service at Suvla Bay during August - September, the entries cease until March 1916 when the unit's voyage from Egypt to France is briefly mentioned.
